A cup of tea...

How I long for the those lovely afternoons sharing tea and biscuits with dear Reginald. Sipping and laughing as the scent of the gardenias and butterfly ginger flutter though the air, sweetened even more by pleasant company and invigorating conversation.

Fie, you say? No air could have so heady a perfume?

Well challenge me if you must, but if you have it in you to brave Mississippi's late summer, come and see if the entire front garden doesn't smell of this heavenly soap.

Not 'manly', you say?

Manly enough to go overseas again with one of our fine soldiers, a little reminder of home with every shower.

Well, if you have the required bravery to make it here, and are able withstand the allure of the vice-laden coastal towns, perhaps it can be proven to you, to be as sweet and exciting as the conversational romps between Reginald and myself.

He, filling my head with wondrous tales of his younger days, gallivanting about with his friend and cohort, Lancelot Everett Morton Whitworth III.

Myself, tittering behind my fan, giddy from the swashbuckling tales of daring-do, mind aflame with the descriptions of far away places and exotic peoples.

It's enough to make one swoon.

Reginald must quite frequently accompany me to the drawing room, for I've become quite flustered. He believes it to be entirely due to the heat, and not to the conversation... Though it might be due to the company.

Funny... It never, however, occurs when our friend and neighbor, Dr. Grumpinschprocket, joins us for afternoon tea, despite his harrowing tales of laboratory experimentations...
